On January 3, staff workers from Chongyi Church, the largest church in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, visited the Hangzhou Children's Welfare Institute to conduct a warmth-giving activity.
Senior Pastor Zhang Zhongcheng, chairman of Hangzhou TSPM, led the team to the welfare institute, with Director Zhao Humin of the organization giving a tour of the facility with introductions of the institute, said Hangzhou CC&TSPM.
The Hangzhou Children's Welfare Institute is a public welfare institution primarily responsible for housing and caring for orphans and abandoned children under 16 years old from urban areas of Hangzhou. Currently, the institute provides care for 300 children.
Chongyi Church donated nearly 1,000 pairs of brand-new children's shoes valued at over 32,000 yuan to the institute with a brief donation handover ceremony.
Reverend Zhang expressed his delight in being able to do something meaningful for the children of the welfare institute, hoping that every child in the institute would feel the warmth and support from the church and grow up healthily and happily.
