In January 2025, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Dingri County in Shigatse City, Tibet, resulting in 126 fatalities and 188 injuries as of 7:00 pm on January 7. This sudden disaster deeply touched the hearts of people across the nation.

On the day of the earthquake, January 7, the Social Service Department of CCC&TSPM responded swiftly by issuing a prayer appeal for the affected areas, said CCC&TSPM. Within a short time, related articles garnered over 12,000 views and were shared nearly 600 times, demonstrating the deep concern of the Christian community for those affected by the disaster.

In the face of this tragedy, China’s Christian groups not only made prayers to impart courage but also fulfilled their social responsibilities through concrete actions. According to incomplete statistics, Christian communities in China have raised a total of 4.85 million yuan for the earthquake-stricken areas in Tibet through diverse channels.

Additionally, CCC&TSPM decided to donate 1.2 million yuan to the disaster areas with the help of the Amity Foundation. These funds will provide significant support for post-disaster reconstruction in the affected villages and towns, assisting residents in restoring their livelihoods.
