Rev. Kan Renping has been appointed as the new president of Jiangsu Theological Seminary.

On January 17, the first meeting of the sixth board of directors of Jiangsu Theological Seminary was held in Nanjing, with the attendance of 20 new board members approved by Jiangsu Provincial CC&TSPM, said CCC&TSPM.

The newly appointed chairperson, Rev. Kan Renping, presided over the meeting and was later announced as the new president, with Rev. Shi Li and Rev. Zhang Kequan named as vice presidents.

During the 11th Jiangsu Christianity Conference last June, Rev. Kan Renping was elected chairperson of the Jiangsu Provincial Three-Self Patriotic Movement Committee. He also serves as the senior pastor of St. Paul's Church. As a pastor trained after the Cultural Revolution, he has been ministering in the church since graduating from Nanjing Union Theological Seminary in 1994.

The meeting also reviewed the seminary's work report and financial report for the period 2019–2024.

On behalf of the new board of directors, Rev. Kan expressed gratitude to Rev. Zhang Keyun, the former chairperson and president.

Jiangsu Theological Seminary, built by Jiangsu CC&TSPM, occupies 9,000 square meters, with a construction area exceeding 7,000 square meters. Since beginning student enrollment in October 1998, the seminary has trained over 1,700 graduates, 90% of whom serve on the front lines of pastoral ministry.
