Since mid-2024, Xiangzhou Church in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, has been involved in local street greening and beautification efforts.
According to Guangdong Provincial CC&TSPM, the church contributed 12,000 yuan to Jida Subdistrict, where it is located, for a tree-planting project aimed at enhancing urban greenery and improving the living environment. In addition, it donated 50,000 yuan to support the construction of the Xiangzhou District Library.
Established in 1997, Xiangzhou Church is the oldest registered Protestant church in Zhuhai. Following two relocations and expansions, it had more than 2,000 registered believers by 2016 and remains active through Sunday services, fellowships, prayer meetings, training sessions, and other church activities. The church also offers catechism classes and baptizes over 100 seekers annually.
The "Green and Beautiful Guangdong" Ecological Initiative, launched in December 2022 by the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, seeks to prioritize ecological protection and green development while promoting harmony between people and nature.
