Persecution watchdog China Aid has reported that a Chinese megapastor has been detained on charges of embezzling funds.
The megapastor, Gu "Joseph" Yuese was arrested on January 7. He was reported to be held at the Hangzhou Municipal Detention Center.
He was the senior pastor of Chonyi Church however he was fired after being detained in January 2015 for defending that crosses must not be removed from the churches in Zhehiang province. On the next month of the same year, he was charged of embezzling funds but then later released in advance of President Xi Jinping's visit to US for the Nuclear Security Summit.
Gu is just one of the numerous pastors who were detained after protesting or working in behalf of the churches.
