Last Sunday the Shandong Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement (CC&TSPM) observed International Women's Day.

More than 30 council members and seminary sisters attended an online video meeting since all onsite gatherings are suspended in China due to the Covid-19 outbreak, according to the Shandong CC&TSPM.

Citing Luke 1: 26-38, a pastor preached a message on the blessed Mary who showed devout love and total obedience to the Lord.

Rev. Gao Ming, chairman of Shandong TSPM, said the meeting expressed care for sisters by giving them an allowance and encouraging them to work hard in ministries with effective protection against the Covid-19 epidemic.

He mentioned that Lin Qiaozhi, a famous Christian gynecologist, was a good example who every sister should learn from. With the love of Christ, Lin devoted her life to China's gynecology needs. She was  acclaimed as the "Mother of Ten Thousand."

He added that two-thirds of the frontline medical staff were women, all playing a tremendous role in the fight against the virus. He expected the sisters to imitate the commitment of Lin and women medical workers in their churches, ministries and daily life.
