A church in Gulei Port Area, Zhangzhou, Fujian, conducted a thanksgiving service for groundbreaking last Wednesday.

Originating as a Shanwei gathering place in Zhangpu County, the church planned to build more than 4,000 square meters of sanctuary and a complex building, with more than 2,000 square meters of land allocated and more than 10 million yuan of subsidy funds provided for reconstruction at a relocated site.

Liu Yinguo, a pastor of this church and president of Zhangpu County Christian Council (CC), presided over the groundbreaking service, in which Rev. Chen Huijiang, deputy president of the Zhangzhou Municipal CC, shared a sermon titled Fulfill the Lord’s Commitment, citing 2 Chronicles 22: 5-10.

Rev. Zhuang Jingcheng, chairman and president of the Zhangzhou CC&TSPM (Three-self Patriotic Movement), led the pastors and co-workers to conduct the foundation stone laying ceremony, saying "The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house."

The choir of this church and Puyi church, with Zhangpu joint choir, sang hymns to celebrate the groundbreaking. More than 300 people, including the co-workers of the Zhangzhou CC&TSPM and the believer representatives from various churches in Zhangpu county participated in the service.
