A centurial Church in China’s southeastern Zhejiang Province provided herbal tea and boiled water to some outdoor workers and tourists in the hot weather.

Taizhou Municipal Charity Association affiliated with Jiaojiang Church organized an activity of distributing refreshing drinks in Yunxi Park on July 20, as people suffered from heat stroke from time to time in many places, the church said.

Two volunteers paid out of their own pockets for white fungus, red dates, wolfberry, peach pulp, fruit, and rock sugar. They made white fungus red dates wolfberry drinks and peach juice fruit drinks after cooking them in a pressure cooker, adding ingredients, and cooling,

Several volunteers packed more than 100 cups of drinks after cooking at home.

In addition to that, Jiaojiang Church located inside the Yunxi Park put the boiled water inside the tea buckets on fixed points after cooling every day, letting security personnel, sanitation workers, and tourists fetch it by themselves.

At present, the church has been designated as a rest stop supplying “a cup of water” by the Taizhou Civilization Office, Taizhou Radio and Television Group, and Taizhou Municipal Office for Establishing Civilized and Sanitary City.

Established in 1871, the church has more than 2,600 worshippers.
