Jiangxi Bible School held a lecture on "Pearl Buck and Chinese Culture" on November 17, which was attended by more than 80 teachers and students.

Professor Wang Bin from Jiangxi Academy of Social Sciences delivered a speech, reported CCC&TSPM.

Rev. Wu Hongying, academic dean of Jiangxi Bible School, said that the story of American Christian writer Pearl S. Buck was a good inspiration for the realization of the sinicization of Christianity. Pearl Buck came to China with her missionary parents when she was four months old, and then she spent her childhood, adolescence, and youth in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, which was called her hometown in China. She lived in China for nearly 40 years and was very familiar with Chinese culture, so she called Chinese her first language. In 1932, she won the Pulitzer Prize for her novel The Good Earth, which describes the life of Chinese farmers. In 1938, she won the Nobel Prize for literature. She also founded the "Welcome House" to help adopt American foundlings of Asian descent, and she received the award for unique service to humanity in 1964.
