A megachurch in east China’s Jiangsu Province supported a local charity for autistic patients.

Before the "World Autism Awareness Day," which falls on April 2nd every year, the Changzhou Chongshan Fund, affiliated with the faith-based Amity Foundation, made a donation to the Lezhu Community Shelter Center in Zhonglou District, according to its annual plan, said the Changzhou Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau.

On March 31, volunteers from the Chongshan Fund established by Changzhou CC&TSPM brought more than 10,000 yuan's worth of computers and office supplies to improve the working environment of the staff.

Wang Sumin, the person in charge of the center, told them about the development process of the institution and the stories of serving autistic patients, and popularized medical knowledge related to autism. Wang called on all sectors of society to have the correct knowledge of autism, handle misunderstandings, eliminate discrimination, and jointly accept and care for autistic patients and their families.

Li Jiangyue, chairman of Changzhou TSPM, said that the Christian community in the city should extend a helping hand to care for autistic patients around them.
