"I am Not Madam Bovary" a film of Chinese actress Fan Bingbing would open in the U.S. and Canada on Oct. 7, however, the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last week.

Doris Pfardrescher, the CEO and president of the Well GO USA described "I am Not Madam Bovary" as a "powerful" and "innovative" film, adding that the film features the "most acclaimed actress" from China and is directed by a "true master," Xiaogang Feng.

"This is a transformative role for Fan Bingbing and one which we think will translate with North American audiences," Pfardrescher added.

"I am Not Madam Bovary" is the feature adaptation of Liu Zhenyun's novel "I Did Not Kill My Husband."   This is the second time that Fan Bingbing has worked with Xiaogang Feng and screenwriter Liu Zhenyun..

Fan Bingbing told the press that she wants the audience to value the film's title when they see it.

It was said that the character of Madam Bovary is so iconic that the audience will recognize it quickly.

Madam Bovary is the so-called character of French writer Gustave Flaubert's novel of the same name. The story is about Emma Bovary who gets on a chain of adulterous affairs due to her dull, ordinary provincial life.

Gua Tao one of the stars in the movie hopes that the movie will be loved by the global audience, although it is very much Chinese.

"I am Not Madam Bovary" will hit the big screen across China on Sept. 30.
