A Japanese movie titled "Kanon" has been nominated for the prestigious Jury Award for the Beijing International Film Festival and the movie director is hopeful for winning the said award.
Director Toshiro Saiga said that there is a 50 percent chance of winning the award but he cannot make it sure. However, he has expressed his gratitude towards the Chinese audiences for embracing the movie in a warm and passionate way.
With the positive response of the Chinese audiences, the director added that their chance to win the Jury Award increased to 70 to 90 percent.
Japanese actress Nozomi Sasaki and actor Sato Ryuji attended the festival as delegates for the Japanese movie.
"Kanon" is a family drama which tells the story of three sisters who struggles both in life and as members of a choir.
