When Gloria Tang Tsz-kei wrote her first song at the age of 13, she did not know that she was starting a music career that will make her one of the Hong Kong's biggest pop export. The 25-year-old singer, popularly known as G.E.M. has millions of fans in China and around the globe but she revealed that she remains at home in Hong Kong.

"Hong Kong is my home. Whenever I'm in Hong Kong, I feel a sense of security," G.E.M. said.

G.E.M., which translates to "get everybody moving", is the stage name she created as her motivation and inspiration in making music.

With her powerful voice and amazing songwriting skills, she earned massive recognition in the industry. She has managed to get her fans move along with music. She has 23 million followers on Weibo, 3 million followers on Instagram and 3 million on Facebook.

While she is famous and everyone seemed to love her, G.E.M. is not immune to criticism.

"Sometimes this place makes you feel hurt. But at the end of the day, it's the same place that makes you feel very loved," she mentioned about it saying it upsets her but she can protect herself by putting a positive attitude always.

Currently, the 25-year-old singer is engaged in her latest tour, "Queen of Hearts" World Tour. She will be visiting Hong Kong on September 16 and 17. Meanwhile, the singer hopes that her songs and her shows will inspire the fans.

"There are a lot of ups and downs in life. You might not be able to change the environment around you, but you can change your attitude [towards it]. I hope to be able to provide positive and open-ended answers to fans' questions," she said.
