At least 300 related events would also be included for the festivities, including Documentary Section, Film Concert, New Film Release, Online Film Section and Film Salon.
The annual Beijing Film Panorama is also a must see in this year's festivities, showcasing the rare international films yet to be released in Beijing. On Saturday, the festival released the full X-Men franchise. Fans of Jurassic Park will also have a chance to see the entire series later in the month. Aside from X-Men and Jurassic Park, the Beijing Film Panorama will also include movies like 'Logan', 'Deadpool', 'Avatar', 'Titanic' and 'The Seven Samurai'.
The opening of these films in the festival also marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up policy according to the organizers. A special section of the festival would also show films showcasing women's success and empowerment like 'Angels Wear White', 'Battle of the Sexes' and 'Woman'.
The 8th Beijing International Film Festival will be held from April 15 to 22.
