On April 20, 2021, the funeral of Dick Liu, who has twice won the Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Supporting Actor, was held at St. Andrew's Church in Tsim Sha Tsui.
More than 30 Hong Kong news media companies attended. Due to COVID-19, there was no public memorial service for the funeral.
Earlier, Dick Liu’s wife, Barbara Chan, stated in the obituary that all gifts received at the funeral will be donated in the name of Dick Liu for a charitable purpose so that Dick Liu's love will stay with us forever.
The spokesman of the Hong Kong Film Workers Association, Tenky Tin, attended the funeral and revealed: "The whole ceremony is very simple because the family hopes the two sons of Dick Liu will arrange the management and everything will be kept simple."
The members of the choir, including Wong Cho Lam, etc., attended the funeral. Aaron Kwok, Tenky Tin, Johnnie To, Chin Ka Lok, Ai Wai, and other artists showed up at the funeral in a low-key way.
Outside the auditorium was a sea of flowers sent by many stars. Hong Kong celebrities such as Julian Cheung and Anita Yuen, Aaron Kwok and his wife, Sean Lau and wife Amy Kwok, Miriam Yeung and her husband, Francis Ng and his wife, Chin Ka Lok and his wife, Director Dante Lam, Emperor Entertainment Chairman Albert Yeung and other Hong Kong celebrities gave wreaths to Uncle Chi.
