A new book about the history of Christianity in Zhangzhou, Fujian is expected to come out on Christmas.
At the beginning of this year, the Zhangzhou Municipal CC&TSPM issued a notice to compile the book "Zhangzhou Christian Gazetteer" by collecting information about the history of churches in subordinate counties and districts.
Churches were required to register their names and locations in the ethnic & religious affairs bureau and to record the important events, pastors, and their influences in the development of each church in chronological order. In addition to sorting out old and new photos of churches, local churches also wrote down their contribution to society, such as carrying out charitable activities, poverty alleviation, teaching and learning assistance, etc.
The municipal CC&TSPM (Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement) required completion of the collection before the end of May this year.
