Movie enthusiasts are now excited as Shanghai has officially opened its gates for the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF).
The opening ceremony of SIFF showcased a star-studded red carpet with journalists and celebrities from around the world.
The said film festival will be held from June 11 to June 19, 2016 at Crown Plaza Shanghai, Shanghai Global Harbor and Shanghai Theatre Academy. The festival has garnered so much attention from media over its proposed summit on Virtual Reality films. These will include discussions on the implementation of the VR technology to films in the next decades.
Among the A-listers were Sir Ian McKellen, British actor and scriptwriter who is famous for playing Gandalf in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. He attended the festival for his movie promotion "Richard III" that will be screened on the same festival to mark 400 years of Shakespeare's death.
Kim Jiwon, Jackie Chan, Lee Min Ho, Fan Bingbing, Jet Li and Li Chen.
Meanwhile, "Mr. Bounty Hunter" , Lee Min Ho's film is schedules to screen for the festival and Jackie Chan's "Mr. Nice Guy". In fact, both movies attract lots of audiences.
SIFF promised a world of entertainment and offers audiences a dive into cinematography and drama. Audiences also awaits for the six classics that Pixar plans to screen under the classics restoration project.
