An Eye Opener to us- What is the difference between being a believer and a Christian? Or is there a difference? People nowadays proclaim that they believe in Jesus Christ, as the Son Of God the Father.Many People claiming the way to our Father Is Jesus.They call themselves Christian, yet their lifestyle is the far from being "Christ-like". Being a Christian and a believer are two different things. A Christian can be a believer, but a believer can't be a Christian, atheist, agnostic, it someone who simply believes in a higher order or power. Satan is a believer, he believes that Jesus is the son of God. But chooses not to obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus that's why he is not a Christian. A Christian is someone who is a follower of Christ.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
True Christians are compared to a SHEEP, and Jesus is our shepherd. If you call yourself a Christians and your not hearing and following the voice of your shepherd your not a Christian then. What are the characteristic of Christ that we need to be followed in order for us to be called Sheep of our Sheperd?
-They will be known as people with very gentle and loving spirit, who desire to do good to all the time, who would not harm anyone by words and in deeds.
- Hears the voice of Christ.This hearing of Christ's voice doesn't mean hearing it with our ears. It must be the hearing with the heart, listening with attention.Believing what is heard is an acting manfully on what is believed. And What areas of our life, where and when we may be heard Christ voice? It whispers in a sinner's conscience, saying, do not these abominable things.
- To follow Christ is to place complete trust in Him as our Redeemer, Savior, Friend, Prophet, Priest, King, Leader, Commander, and Shepherd. and to walk in His ways straightforward and no turning back.
In 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
If you're claiming that you're a Christian and yet you still living a sinful life means you are not yet a new creature, you are not just a Christian, you are just a believer. Because you need to believe first in order for you to be a Christian.
There are some Christian churches claims that there are two types of Christians. The Spiritual Christian and the Carnal Christian.
A carnal Christian is one has gotten to a place where he thinks he can sin and it won't affect his ministry! And It's a BIG LIE because to be called a Christians you no longer live a life which is an abomination in the eyes of our Father.
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they HAD DONE as recorded in the books.
A spiritChristiantian is always attached to the Father and does the gospel of Jesus. If we believe that Our Father in Heaven sent His son and we believe in Him(BELIEVERS) and act like Him(CHRISTIANS) then are we truly followers of Jesus.
