Last week, churches and Christian communities across China celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival.
The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in the Chinese calendar (on May 31 this year). People celebrate it to commemorate a great patriotic poet named Yuan Qu by eating zongzi (sticky rice dumpling) and racing dragon boats.
From handmade zongzi and traditional Chinese performances to cultural experience events and charity activities, believers expressed their faith and cultural appreciation through festive gatherings and creative expressions. The photos highlight the integration of traditional Chinese customs with Christian fellowship in various regions, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Shandong, and Guizhou.
