This week, a survey conducted by Blackbox Research was published in the South China Morning Post showing the sentiments of the Chinese people regarding how the US presidential nominees would handle Chinese-US Relations and if they would be better than their predecessor, outgoing President Barack Obama and other related issues regarding the polls.
According to the survey results, the respondents believe both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have what it takes to handle the conflicts between the two countries more effectively in comparison to President Barack Obama.
The survey also said that 76% of Asians would support Hillary Clinton. The Chinese people are also optimistic of the future of Chinese-US relations after the elections despite the fact both countries continue to argue regarding the South China Sea.
At least 36% of the respondents have also said that the existing relations of both countries is still "excellent."
With regards to certain issues, Trump has gotten the support of 50% of the respondents in China with regards to how well he would be able to handle the disputes in the South China Sea. He also gotten the support of 51% of the respondents with regards to the interference of the US to Asia and would interfere less when elected.
In terms of human rights protections and intellectual property, a majority of the respondents say Hillary Clinton is the woman for the position. She was also selected by 52% of the respondents in terms of who can strengthen US-Chinese relations the most. 48% say that Trump would be better in handling the issue.
