Mighty Men Western Cape is hosting a conference this weekend – the first MMC Western Cape in five years – at a beautiful new venue on a farm between Ashton and Robertson.
Africa crusade evangelist Juan van Tonder who heads up the team hosting the event from Friday September 6 to Sunday September 8 said “We’re really going to do a bit of ‘crusade style’ this weekend. We expect a mighty move of God like the Lord does in Africa and we want our men to experience the power of God, the presence of God, the anointing that breaks the yoke.”
The event will also embrace the longstanding Mighty Men Conference mandate of equipping men to be prophet, priest and king, he said.
After watching the SA vs New Zealand rugby Test together on big screens on Saturday the men will be ministered to during a session led by evangelist Johnny Louw, said Van Tonder.
Sunday’s all-age family service led by Dr Izak Burger will be livestreamed on the Mighty Men Western Cape YouTube channel. Friday and Saturday’s programme is exclusively for men and boys aged 12 or older.
“If you don’t have the R150 entry fee for the weekend, just come to the gate on Friday and we will let you in for free,” said Van Tonder. He said that catering for disadvantaged communities was a big focus of the weekend and that tents with mattresses have been set up to accommodate those in need.
Van Tonder said that since last November when he answered the call to restart Mighty Men Western Cape, they have received prophetic words about God’s plans to set people free and local farmers, churches and community members have joined hands to prepare for this weekend’s event.
At the time of our conversation they were only R300 000 short of their budget of R1.5 million — “another sign of the Lord’s hand in it”. he said.
