In the afternoon of Reformation Sunday, Oct. 27, some 2.1 million Christians gathered for a joint worship service from 2pm to 5pm in Seoul, Korea to “unite for repentance, revival, and restoration of holiness in our society.” According to organizers, an estimated 1.1 million joined onsite despite the bad weather with another 1 million joining online (although police estimated a lower figure for the in-person gathering). The unprecedented joint worship service brought together Korean churches across denominations as they affirmed traditional marriage and family and prayed for their nation.

“Everything that is not growing will slowly decay,” says Dr Bambang Budijanto, General Secretary of the Asia Evangelical Alliance (AEA), as he highlights the challenges facing the Church in Asia today. Following AEA’s 11th General Assembly in Mongolia, Budijanto and other Asian leaders have now published their reflections on what they see as the only way forward: repentance, focusing on discipleship within families and truly empowering younger leaders to participate in God’s mission.

The European Leadership Forum (ELF) 2024 has kicked off with more than 800 Christian leaders from all over the continent meeting from May 25-30 in Wisla, Poland. It is the 22nd annual ELF that aims to “unite, equip, and resource evangelical leaders to renew the biblical church and evangelize Europe,” according to organizers.

“The prayer that I pray for those who are coming for the global gathering is that they will see that God is on the move,” says Rev. Dr. Casely Essamuah, Secretary of the Global Christian Forum (GCF) as 250 representatives from all streams of Christianity are gathering in Accra, Ghana from April 16-19 for what is likely the most diverse meeting of Christian leaders globally.
