After its initial release, Pokemon Go will finally be available in Japan on July 20.
Previously, Niantic CEO John Hanke said in an interview with Forbes that the delay in releasing the application in Japan s due to the request of the Pokemon Company and Nintendo of ensuring that the servers in Japan can keep up with the demand once the game is released.
In the same report, he even said that they expect the Japanese release will be sometime in the end of July.
The release of Pokemon Go in Japan will also be special because it will be featuring an official tie-up with an official partner of the brand: McDonalds's. Hanke has said that sponsored locations would be able to create gyms in its vicinity to create traffic and sales to each business. In Japan, at least 3,000 fast food branches of McDonald's will be open to players once the game is released. Bloomberg has reported that McDonald's Japan has recorded a high price rocket for their Pokemon-branded Happy Meals before the game is even released.
With Japan being the first Asian country to have the game, it is expected that other Asian countries will follow.
