An elder ordination ceremony took place at a church in Guangdong province.
On November 15, leaders of Guangdong Provincial CC&TSPM ordained Chen Huazhao and Zhang Jianmei (female) as elders at Yangdong Church in Yangjiang City.
Fang Gongchen, secretary general of the Yangjiang Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), presided over the ordination service. Rev. Fan Hongen, chairman of Guangdong TSPM, delivered a sermon titled "Follow Me If You Love Me," emphasizing that true love for Jesus entails following Him, obeying His will, and bringing glory to God regardless of the circumstances. He encouraged those about to be ordained and all present congregants to remember their mission, serve faithfully, and fulfill their responsibilities. Reverend Fan also presented the new elders with clerical stoles.
Rev. Lei Yuming, executive vice president of the Guangdong Christian Council (CC), offered words of encouragement to the newly ordained elders, urging them to be faithful in their duties, care for believers, and be exemplary members of God's household.
