On July 1, Zhongshan CC&TSPM held the 2025 fourth pastoral ministry seminar at Longdu Church. A total of 37 pastoral staff from across the city participated in the session.
Rev. Zhao Yangci from Longdu Church gave a talk titled "The Contribution of Bible Translation of Chinese Union Version (CUV) to Sinicization of Christianity." He shared the historical background of the CUV translation and the intrinsic need for the sinicization of Christianity. Zhao analyzed the translation principles of the CUV from three perspectives: "Translation Principles: The Pursuit of Faithfulness, Expressiveness, and Elegance," "Terminology Choice: Localization and Enrichment of Vocabulary," and "Language Style: The Promotion of Vernacular to Chinese Literature." He pointed out that the Mandarin CUV Bible made significant contributions to the history of cultural integration.
In addition, the seminar invited Brother Dong Xian from a legal consulting firm in Zhongshan to conduct a lecture for pastoral staff on "How Pastoral Staff Can Assist Believers with Estate Planning and Will Establishment." Brother Dong focused on the issues related to estate planning and will establishment that are often encountered in church management and pastoral care. He provided an interpretation of the legal basis for property planning, key points for establishing a will, and dispute resolution mechanisms, helping pastoral staff gain a better understanding of these topics.
