Churches, Seminaries Across China Mark 78th Anniv. of V-J Day

September 3 this year marks the 78th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day and the World Anti-Fascist War. CC&TSPMs, churches, and theological seminaries across China organized a variety of commemorative activities.

From September 3 to 7, prayer meetings for peace were organized at many churches in Jilin Province, such as Beijing Road Church in Chuanying District, Jilin City, Canhua Church and Qinghe Church in Yanji City, as well as Chengdong Church in Changchun Economic and Technological Development Zone, reported CCC&TSPM.

From September 6 to 10, Shandong Provincial CC&TSPM, Qingzhi Church affiliated with Weifang Municipal CC&TSPM, and the gathering point in the Liaocheng Economic and Technological Development Zone held prayer meetings.

From September 3 to 10, Mingde Road Church, Er Gong Church, Wulabo Meeting Point, and West Station Meeting Point in Urumqi, Xinjiang, prayed for national prosperity and world peace.

Apart from Wuxi International Church in Jiangsu on September 3, eight other churches in Wuxi and two churches in Jiangyin held peace prayer meetings from September 7 to 9.

Besides the commemorating activities on September 3 at New Grace Church in Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, churches in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, marked V-J Day through discussions, prayer meetings, and flag-raising ceremonies On September 5.

On September 8, at Bihai International Church in Sanya City, Hainan Province, Rev. Wang Yongxiang called on every Christian to cherish the current peaceful living environment and offer prayers for countries and people still in conflict around the world.

Recently, Christian communities in Qingpu District, Shanghai, and nine churches in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, held prayer activities.

From September 7 to 10, Jiangxi Bible School, Guizhou Bible School, and Fujian Theological Seminary prayed for world peace, the prosperity and strength of the nation, and the well-being and health of the people. Additionally, Guangdong Union Theological Seminary organized students to conduct morning prayer meetings.
