Twitter Participates Chinese New Year, Released First-Ever New Year Emojis

Twitter has officially released its first-ever Chinese New Year emojis. This is a bid to increase Twitter user’s engagement over the Chinese New Year celebration.

 According to Twitter’s official blog, more than 1.3 billion Chinese people around the whole world will celebrate the Chinese New Year and Year of the Monkey on 8th of February and as people get ready for it, Twitter has prepared global conversations gimmick on the social media site.

According to Twitter official blog, the special emojis will appear when you include the following hashtags to your tweets:

English:

#ChineseNewYear

#HappyChineseNewYear

#HappyCNY

#GongXiFaCai

#KungHeiFatChoy

#CNYfortune

Traditional Chinese:

#新春大吉

#恭喜發財

#新年快樂

#猴年

Simplified Chinese:

#新春大吉

#恭喜发财

#新年快乐

#猴年

Bahasa Indonesian:

#imlek

Aside from those emojis, Twitter users will have a chance to check their fortunes for the upcoming year. They just need to send a tweet to the English version website of the China News Service with their birth year followed by the hashtag #CNYfortune, they will then  receive a reply with a Year of the Monkey fortune based on their Chinese zodiac sign.

Twitter has iniated since before the hashtags and emojis for the other celebrations such as Christmas, Halloween, New year and many more.
