The Chinese Christian NBA star Jeremy Lin spoke in the recently concluded World Economic Forum in China and talked about his desire to spread the gospel in areas where people have not heard it before.
According to a report, the Chinese-American NBA player said he specifically wanted to spread the gospel and help people suffering from poverty.
"I want to bring Christ to a lot of different areas of the world that don't have access to understand what that's about," Lin said in an interview.
He expounded on his main goal to help people in poverty and he even added that he wanted to have a day talk with children who are very close and dear to him in order for him to ask them of their dreams and plans for their own future.
He also reminisced different stories of his own former teammates who never met their parents and lived on violent areas. He said he will be willing to help kids with the same situation and the like.
"Once I saw how my teammates grew up, I thought, 'if I have a chance I'm going to do something about that," he said.
Lin was asked about how is it to live as an Asian-American, a question he used to answer since he studied in Harvard.
According to the NBA player, he was being appreciative with his identity more as he grew older and not allow other people to dictate him.
"A lot of that goes back to my faith. I'm a Christian," Lin said.
He emphasized that his identity comes "first and foremost" from Christ.
