On the morning of September 24,"Guangzhou Amity Public Welfare Development Center" is officially launched in The Fifth China Charity Fair in the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center after the long preparation.
Qiu Zhonghui, Vice chairman and Secretary General of The Amity Foundation, Zou Xueyin, Executive Secretary of China Association of Social Workers, He Wen, Assistant Secretary-General of The Amity Foundation, Ling Chuanxiang, Assistant Secretary General of The Amity Foundation and Vice chairman of Guangzhou Amity Public Development Center, Wu Zhiping, chairman of Guangzhou Faze City and Public Research Center, Lu Minjun, Co-founder of CSR World.cn, Guo Yuan, Secretary General of Guangzhou Youth Development Foundation, Wang Yanzhen, Secretary General of Beijing Sicheng Chaoyangmen Community Foundation and other partners from Guangdong Youxin Foundation, CSR World.cn, NGO2.0, Foshan Shunde Social Innovation Center were invited and attended the Launching Ceremony.
Before the Launching Ceremony, Secretary General Qiu Zhonghui and Zou Xueyin carried a talk regarding the question of specialization and professionalization of public service. Secretary General Qiu expressed that the implementation of Charity Law has promoted the development of charity work. Yet in terms of public welfare, there won't be specialization without professionalization. How to raise money? How to use the funds? And how much benefit it generates? These are matters of specialization and standardization. Secretary General Zou believes that the three areas of business, charity, and special subjects are inseparable. Business industry needs to fulfill its social responsibility and the specialization of the charity is also social work. Many aspects, like the professional support of social work, project management, high quality service, and the scientific structure of academic circles in social work need our joint efforts to promote the specialization and standardization of social work.
After the dialogue, Guangzhou Amity Public Development Center held its official Launching Ceremony. The directors and guests all participated in the ceremony. The directors received letters of appointment from Qiu Zhonghui, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of The Amity Foundation and Chairman of Guangzhou Amity Public Development Center. He also presented the "Outstanding Partner" Plaque for delegates from Guangzhou Youxin Foundation, CSR World.cn, Shunde Social Innovation Center and Shenzhen Tu'ou Public Welfare Development Center. Guangzhou Youxin Foundation gave a precious gift back: calligraphy work by a 91-year-old Anti-Japan war veteran who was supported by Anti-Japan Veteran Care Program by the Foundation.
China's first Charity Law was formally implemented on Sept 1, 2016. The Amity Foundation regarded this as the chance to start the Guangzhou Amity Public Welfare Development Center to offer the social organizations building abilities and achieve sustainable development and to promote the industry development of China's Public welfare. In the future, Guangzhou Amity Public Welfare Development Center will focus on the development needs and characteristics of the social organizations based on its current situation, set up a platform for cooperative communication and resources sharing, and offer support for the social organizations through different social welfare activities and projects to offer more service on public welfare related management, training and consultation to make contribution for the development of the public charity.
