The director of the Office of Security and Humanitarian Affairs of UNAIDS claims that China has done a great job in AIDS prevention for years and the UNAIDS Award for Outstanding Achievement given to the wife of Chinese president is also presented to the Chinese government.
Invited by WHO Director-General Margaret Chan and UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibe, Peng addresses that she realizes that a caring heart is our best vaccine to fight diseases through the experience of the past eleven years' effort.
Andrew Barr, a WHO senior adviser, states that China has made impressive contributions by taking steps for AIDS prevention and treatment and having achieved the millennium development goal of the tuberculosis control five years ahead of schedule.
Last Dec 1st, the 20th World AIDS Day, China publicized the issue with the theme -- "to fight AIDS with joint hands and focus on prevention".
