The 29th National Joint Meeting of Religious Communities was held in Beijing on March 13, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the rule of law in religious affairs governance and implementing comprehensive and strict governance over religions.
Mr. Chen Ruifeng, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and director of the National Religious Affairs Administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, said Beijing CC&TSPM.
The meeting underscored the necessity of adhering to the Communist Party of China's fundamental principles on religious work, advancing the sinicization of religions in a systematic manner, reinforcing the rule of law in religious governance, ensuring comprehensive and strict governance, and fostering the healthy development of religions in China.
The meeting was attended by leaders of China's five major religious organizations, who all presented speeches, along with key representatives from the National Councils of YMCAs and YWCAs of China. It was resided by Bishop Joseph Shen Bin, chairperson of the Bishops' Conference of the Catholic Church in China.
