9 Protestant Leaders Attend China’s Two Sessions

Registered Protestant church leaders across China participated in the 2025 "Two Sessions," the country's annual key political event.

The third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee opened on March 4, 2025, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Nine Protestant representatives, including President Wu Wei of CCC and Chairperson Xu Xiaohong of TSPM, President Wu Weiqing of Beijing CC, Zhang Keyun, Chief supervisor of the Supervisory Board of the Jiangsu CC&TSPM, Chairperson Xu Yulan of Shanghai TSPM , President Gao Ming of Shandong CC, Chairperson Jin Yunpeng of Hebei TSPM, Chairperson Fan Hongen of Guangdong TSPM, and Chairperson Pan Xingwang of Zhejiang TSPM, attended the six-day session alongside over 2,100 members from 34 sectors. The closing meeting took place on March 10.

The third session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) opened on the morning of March 5, 2025, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and lasted for seven days. Rev. Shan Weixiang, an NPC deputy, participated in the session. The closing meeting was held on the afternoon of March 11, with over 2,900 deputies in attendance.

Reports and drafts, such as the government work report, drafts on budgets and economic and social development plans, and the draft amendment to the "Law on Deputies to the National People's Congress and to the Local People's Congresses at Various Levels," were reviewed for the conference.
