The 12th Amity Foundation International Symposium on Autism and Practical Workshop on Multi-Scenario Integration Technologies will be held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, from April 25 to 26.
Co-organized by the Affiliated Brain Hospital of Nanjing Medical University and the Amity Foundation, the event will feature the theme of "Neurodiversity and Sustainable Development: Pathways to Multi-Environmental Integration for the Autism Community."
According to the organizers, the two-day symposium will bring together leading experts and scholars in the field of autism from the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries, as well as from Hong Kong and mainland China. Participants will engage in in-depth discussions on the integration of neurodiverse and autistic individuals within varied social and environmental settings.
The first part of the event will consist of a symposium focusing on current issues and emerging trends in autism research and support. On April 25, six keynote presentations will be delivered, including topics such as "Sharing Experiences of Social Integration Services for Autistic Youth in Hong Kong," "Exploring Integrated Education for Children on the Autism Spectrum," and "The Impact of the Neurodiversity Movement on the Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)."
The second part comprises three practical workshops to equip participants with hands-on techniques and approaches, covering areas such as "Functional Training and Preschool Integration for Neurodivergent Children," "Developmental Support and Environmental Adaptation for Neurodivergent Adolescents," and "Family Interventions and Support for Autistic and Neurodivergent Children."
