The official website of the Yunnan Theological Seminary recently released an article written by the president Luo Deshun, talking about the history, status quo, and development goals.

The article "Yunnan Theological Seminary Development Vision" briefly introduced the seminary.

In 1989, the Yunnan Theological Seminary was approved by the government to be set up. Its task is to train young preachers and pastors. The construction area is 1,744 square meters. Up until this August, 645 students who have taken the three-year theological course have already graduated. In addition, over 380 students have taken the short-term pastoral training which was held 9 times.

On the morning of May 15, 2015, more than 1,000 people attended the ceremony of the inauguration of the Seminary which was held on the new campus.

Now, the seminary has 19 faculty and staff and 119 students. The students are made up of Yi, Lisu, Jingpo, Lahu, Wa, Miao, Hani, Dai, Zhuang, Tibetan, Nv, Han, and other nationalities. 

Luo said that after gradually improving the equipment, the development goal of the seminary is to make the number of students reach 300, including 200 undergraduate students and 100 training people.
