The young volunteers from Hongkou District, Shanghai and the pastoral staff of Young John Allen Memorial Church or Jing Ling Church participated in a communication meeting on preaching held last March 19 and April 2, 2017.
Twelve of the volunteers preached sermons publicly for the first time, including those who have been engaged in church ministries for a long time. Majority of them are college/university degree holders and some have graduate degrees with overseas educational backgrounds. Some of the speakers graduated or studied in domestic seminaries. The pastoral staff in the district, including Rev. Yu Jiang, commented on their preaching.
There are about 150,000 Christians living in the District and these young volunteers will play a positive role in the future of church nurturing.
