The Gospel Church of Huinong District, Shizuishan City, Ningxia in northwestern China's Gansu Province held its foundation laying ceremony for the new church building on March 28, 2017.  The fellow workers started building a new church in faith with only one third of the total budget.

The old building of the Gospel Church, which was converted from a warehouse, is located in the northern District of Huinong County in an area with coal mine tunnels. The foundation was damaged during the construction of a nearby real estate development and there was considerable hidden dangers also discovered in the process.  For this reason, the local government assigned 2.47 acres of land for a new church to be built after urging the Gospel Church leaders to move several times to build a new church.

The church finally decided to build a new church because 70 to 80 percent of the congregants are seniors and their safety would be threatened in the event of a collapse in the old church.  However, the land alone cost one million yuan.  Additionally, the land would be revoked if they didn't begin construction.  After careful consideration, the church started the construction in faith despite the financial difficulties involved with the project.

After two months, the church received certification on the quality of the foundation and began building the primary structure.  If the construction goes well and the financial support continues, the new church will be completed by September, according to a lay worker from the church.

The new church is located in the southern district of Huinong County.  It covers an area of 9,976 square meters and a building area of 2,570 square meters.  It is a two-story building, and the main chapel is on the second floor.  The first floor has a secondary chapel, Sunday school, reception room, and more.  Both floors together can hold up to one thousand people for services at one time.
