On June 16, 2019, also Father's Day, Dalian's Xishan Church in Jilin province held its midyear Communion service.
Rev. Li Shenshen shared from the communion chapters in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark and led the congregation in singing hymns.
He emphasized that the bread and the cup were the Lord's body and blood rather than simply generic unleavened bread and wine. After the sermon, he guided the participants to reflect on the its meaning for themselves through prayer and meditation. Some believers wept and some expressed their deep gratitude.
The service concluded with the lead pastor and the congregation reciting the Lord's prayer.
