From June 29 to 30, the Jilin CC&TSPM's ordination assessment team went to Changchun City to evaluate the 12 pastors recommended by the Changchun CC&TSPM for ordination.
According to reports from the Jilin Provincial CC&TSPM, the assessment team was composed of three persons including Ren Dazhong, Chairman and President of the Jilin CC&TSPM. The ordination exam was held at the West Five Roads Church in Changchun City, where the Changchun Christian CC&TSPM has offices.
The assessment was carried out in the form of a believer evaluation and self-evaluation according to the "Ordination Assessment Form". Three staff members and two believers evaluated the applicant. The evaluation included church management, pastoral ability, spiritual morality, ideological awareness, and family status. The evaluation was tabulated, reasons given for the scores, and then signed by the evaluators.
In the self-assessment session, the applicants discussed a topic they had reviewed, and the assessment team gave a score. For an accurate assessment of each applicant, the team assessed the following: understanding of the three-self principles, the practice of Christianity in China, understanding of laws on religion, understanding the challenges that face the church, how to treat church staff, working with the church and the local three-self administration, and others. After a discussion with the applicant, they asked for a response to an additional question. After completion of the application, the assessment team scored the exam based on the applicant's knowledge and then made a decision on whether the applicant passed the exam.
After two days of work, the assessment of applicants in Changchun City was successfully completed. After the provincial-wide assessment was completed, the Jilin Provincial CC&TSPM made the decision to provide training for the ordination of these pastors.
