On February 15, 2021, the song of "Happy birthday to you" echoed in the canteen of the Red Cross nursing home in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang province, the farthest northern part of China.
Since the coronavirus pandemic rebounds in early 2020, the nursing home has been closed down for more than a month. The Christian fellow workers who had worked here even for the shortest time were away from home for more than 20 days; they also even spent the Spring Festival there.
The day of February 15 was Sister Kou's 68th birthday, the chef at the nursing home canteen. The Christian colleagues, who had worked for a long time in a closed environment, organized a specific birthday party for the chef.
