Shanghai Christian Council ordained five pastors and four elders on Friday.
The ordination ceremony took place in Pu’an Church, Putuo District, according to Shanghai CC&TSPM.
The eight female and one male newly clergy were presented with stoles and Bibles as gifts.
Later a meeting for the new church workers was held, in which church leaders encouraged them to be faithful servants of God.
