A church in China’s southeastern coastal Jiangsu Province announced that it had obtained the "Internet Religious Information Service License" which demanded itself to "provide high-quality online religious information services."
The Administrative Measures for Internet Religious Information Services which was issued on December 3, 2021, and came into effect on March 1, stipulated that religious sites engaging in online religious activities should get this license and assume corresponding responsibilities and obligations.
Huigongqiao Church in Wuxi City submitted relevant application materials to Jiangsu Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission on March 18, appointing Nie Duan as the censor to self-study religious policies, regulations, and knowledge, reported the church. Nie went to Nanjing to take the information auditor examination organized by the commission on June 13 and passed the exam. This religious organization pointed out on July 7 that the church needed to submit several supplementary materials which it sent over two weeks later due to COVID-19. Accepting the application in an announcement on July 28, the commission approved the application and issued the license on August 3.
