A church in China's southeastern coastal Fujian Province conducted the annual 'Santa Claus Action' to take care of the needy including believers.
Five staff workers of Canaan cell group in Gospel Church, Yongan City, visited a male believer named Liu Weichang, who suffered from multiple complications caused by diabetes.
He almost goes blind from diabetes, in need of three times a week for dialysis because of renal failure. He also twice experienced the danger caused by heart failure, but his life was rescued in time with the protection of the Lord.
Although Liu is almost blind, he loves playing guitar. The Canaan cell group brought him a good new guitar which he played happily. After that, they delivered the donation of 2,800 yuan from believers and the three fluff crucifix ornaments which were hung on his door.
Rev. Zhao of the church divided the young and middle-aged fellowship into 20 groups. Each group has about 30 to 40 members led and shepherded by the group leader and deputy leader and is required to carry out a 'Santa Claus Caring Action' before Christmas on December 25.
Because they lacked funding for activity funds, Yichun, leader of the Canaan cell group, launched a donation solitaire in their WeChat group on November 20, receiving 3,000 yuan in a short period of time. During it, there was also one thing that touched all.
The deputy group leader Wang Qin's father, who is not a member of this group, insisted on donating 300 yuan on December 8 after he heard about the donation of solitaire.
The old father is 85 years old this year with bad health. Due to some diseases in his feet, he can only walk around at home rather than go to church. Moreover, he often suffers from dizziness, and is hospitalized twice a year for blood vessel drainage. He said that because he has a retirement salary and medical insurance, he‘d like to help other believers in need. In this way, the contribution amounted to 3,300 yuan.
