A church in northeast China’s Liaoning Province held a service for Palm Sunday to start the Holy Week.
At Teng'ao Church in Haicheng City on April 2, together with choir members, worshippers celebrated Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
After reading Luke 23:33–49, Rev. Wang Runtao, chairman of the Haicheng Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), delivered a sermon titled "Redemption by the Cross." He said as God’s solution to our sins, Jesus was offered to bear the sins and paid the supreme price to set people from sin by conquering death. The pastor added that Christians who were justified before God and belonged to Christ lived a new life to glorify Him so that the devil couldn’t bring any charges against them.
In addition to continuing to invite pastors to preach, the church will also hold a performance on Easter Sunday, the most important Christian holiday.
