A volunteer service center in China’s eastern Jiangsu Province supplied assistive devices to disabled elderly and issued a notice of long-term volunteer recruitment for local children's volunteer homes.

On April 7, World Health Day of this year, Reed’s Home Volunteer Service Center participated as a cooperator in the volunteer service activity named “Use Assistive Devices to Well Serve Health of the Elderly," bringing high-quality urban medical and rehabilitation resources into the countryside.

The center and the Assistive Device Center of Zhenjiang Disabled Persons' Federation provided need assessment and device assembly services. A total of 10 people were provided with wheelchairs, single crutches, double crutches, and walkers.

The Children’s Welfare Home in Zhenjiang, cooperating with the center, launched a long-term volunteer recruitment activity for orphans and disabled children, planning to carry out normalized volunteer service for the disabled.

The center issued a notice to recruit volunteers for the Children’s Welfare Home in Zhenjiang on April 12. The notice introduced the conditions, rights, and obligations as well as the registration steps to participate in the service. It is required that those who sign up can serve one or two days a week on a regular basis for at least two months.
