Christian leaders from Fujian Province have expressed their sympathy for the Cheng'ao Church in Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, which is in a typhoon-affected area.
Owing to the repercussions of Typhoon "Doksuri," copious rainfalls have engendered substantial flooding, reaching depths of up to four meters within Cheng’aojie Village, Jiaocheng District. This region has also experienced severe flooding and landslides. As a result, the lower floor of Cheng'ao Church and the residences of several believers have been inundated by floodwaters, as reported by the Ningde Municipal CC&TSPM.
On August 2nd, Rev. Wei Zhongxin, chairman of Ningde TSPM, and Rev. Lin Jiaxing, president of Ningde Christian Council, undertook a visit to the church and the dwellings of believers with the intent of comprehending the extent of the damage. During this visit, they disbursed the initial tranche of relief funds to the church.
Subsequently, on August 6th, Rev. Yue Qinghua, chairman of Fujian Provincial CC&TSPM, accompanied by other leaders from the organization, familiarized themselves with the conditions prevailing in this region. It was conveyed to them that despite the adversities faced by Cheng'ao Church and its congregants, the church remained resolute in mobilizing its members to participate in relief activities. On behalf of Fujian CC&TSPM, Rev. Yue personally extended donations to the severely affected believers, thereby making a contribution to post-disaster recuperation efforts.
