A church in Liaoning Province held a praise meeting before the harvest season in September.
On Sunday, September 3rd, at Shengli Church in Tai'an County, Anshan City, Elder Shi Xiuchen, head of the church, gave a sermon on "Give Thanks in All Circumstances," citing 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18. Believers presented programs like dances, hymns of praise, instrumental ensembles, couple dances, and youth rhythms to God.
According to historical records, "Autumn Harvest Thanksgiving Day is celebrated every year by the church on a selected day. Each church in Liaoning Province carries out celebration activities during the period of Cold Dew (a Sunday between early September 1st and September 15th in the Gregorian calendar) every year. At that time, believers bring their own agricultural products to the offering table of the church to repay God's grace." Now, the worship service remains unchanged, but it lasts from early September to the end of October each year, and some continue until early November. Every believer places rice, noodles, oil, vegetables, and fruits in front of the altar instead of putting them on the table.
