A collaborative conference between Catholicism and Christianity in Jiangsu Province regarding the strict governance of religions was initiated in Nanjing City.
Over 200 leaders and pastoral staff members from Catholic and Christian organizations took part in the workshop, according to Jiangsu Ethnic and Religious Affairs, which took place from September 4 to 6. During the opening ceremony, Bishop Joseph Shen Bin, chairman of the Chinese Catholic Bishops' Conference, and Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairman of the National Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), delivered speeches.
During the seminar, Zhuo Xinping, honorary president of the Society for the Study of Chinese Religions and a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered a keynote address on the theme of "Historical Experiences of Strict Religious Discipline within Christianity."
Subsequently, six invited guests from national and provincial religious organizations, as well as provincial and municipal departments of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, conducted a round table conversation.
Twenty-five Catholic and Christian groups, venues, and the leader of the Amity Foundation exchanged experiences regarding "Advocating Frugality and Abstaining From Extravagance," "Group Development," "Standardized Management," and "Social Service."
