Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairman of TSPM, and Rev. Wu Wei, president of CCC, welcomed Dr. Danny Yu, president and founder of the Christian Leadership Exchange (CLE), from the United States. Both parties exchanged ideas on collaboration and training in elderly care social services.
They acknowledged the changes that took place within churches in both China and the United States because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing complexity of the China-U.S. relationship during the September 7 meeting, according to CCC&TSPM.
Dr. Yu expressed the anticipation of CLE for enhanced cooperation with CCC&TSPM, with the aim of fostering communication between churches in both nations and increasing mutual understanding among the young people.
Subsequently, Rev. Xu emphasized the Chinese philosophy of valuing harmony and earning respect through virtue. Churches in the country also hoped the bilateral relationship between China and the U.S. would contribute to harmony, thus benefiting and blessing not only the two nations but all of humanity.
Furthermore, Rev. Wu extended invitations from Chinese churches to American church leaders who are interested in China, encouraging them to visit, gain insight into the Chinese churches, and check out the development within China.
They also discussed other topics, such as aging society and training in pastoring and caring for the elders, with a shared willingness to cooperate in these areas.
