Rev. Venerable Godfrey Stone, chairman of Friends of the Church in China (FCC) from the U.K., and its delegation embarked on a visit to the Shanxi Provincial CC&TSPM.
On September 1, Rev. Wang Jun, president and chairman of Shanxi CC&TSPM, expressed his appreciation for the FCC’s respect for the “three-self” principle (self-preaching, self-governing, and self-supporting). He also showed his respect for their endeavors to enhance mutual understanding among churches in China and Britain and foster friendship among the fellowships in the two nations.
During the meeting, Rev. Qi Hongjun, vice president and vice chairman, as well as the secretary general of Shanxi CC&TSPM, briefed the guests on the local customs, traditions, and circumstances of churches in Shanxi. Additionally, he outlined the primary ministries conducted by the provincial CC&TSPM.
Subsequently, Rev. Wang highlighted the topics of interest to the FCC delegation, including the sinicization of Christianity, along with the opportunities and challenges confronted by churches. Rev. Godfrey Stone conveyed his admiration for the comprehensive ministries initiated by Shanxi CC&TSPM.
Following these exchanges, the delegation proceeded with their visit to Shanxi Bible School. Rev. Wang Hong, headmaster of the school, provided an overview of the school's history, development, and training of theological students.
