The 23rd session of the training seminar for pastoral workers was held in Pingnan County, Ningde, Fujian.
More than 80 pastoral workers or leaders from churches or gathering sites in the county participated in the event conducted by Pingnan County CC&TSPM at Chengdong Church on October 8–11, said the county CC&TSPM.
In the opening ceremony on October 8, Wei Zhongxin, president of the county's Christian council, delivered a welcome speech. He expressed gratitude to the pastors and church workers who came from afar and showed concern for the needs of the mountainous churches. He encouraged the attendees to cherish the opportunity and equip themselves better to serve in the church.
After the opening ceremony, the pastoral workers studied the Regulations Governing Religious Activity Sites.
Three pastors were invited, including Rev. Lin Mingliang from Furen Church in Fuqing, who is also the vice president of Fuqing Christian Council; Pastor Wu Caijin; and Rev. Chen Yiping from Trinity Church in Xiamen. They delivered sermons on topics such as "Building a Home Acceptable to the Heavenly Father," "Essentials of Being a Pastor," and "Life Is Ministry," addressing the challenges that church workers faced in their pastoral ministry. In the evening sessions, there were group discussions where participants shared their insights on the course content.
The next day, Ningde CC&TSPM conducted a special preaching session featuring interpretation, preaching, and application of the Bible in the Chinese context in order to let its outcomes take root in grassroots churches.
On October 11, Pingnan County CC&TSPM held a mobilization meeting themed "anti-terrorism, anti-infiltration, and fire prevention." President Wei Zhongxin emphasized the need for pastoral workers to enhance their awareness in these three areas and take preventive measures.
